I’m so excited to be doing this super fun candle making class with Flores Lane & The Sill LA! Would love for all of you guys to join us. Open a bottle of wine, grab your roomie or your partner, or enjoy some sweet alone time and let’s make some candles!

When: Wednesday, May 13, 2020 @ 8PM PST
Where: Your Living Room

What you’ll need: Intentionally linked everything essential here from Amazon , so you can order and return easily. Also note that you’ll be able to make a lot of candles with these, and can reuse leftover materials for making candles at home any time. You can also split bulk materials like wax and wicks with family or friends so you each have some to use for the class.

  • Vessels - use what you have at home! old candle jars, mason jars, mugs, tea cups, etc

  • Pitcher - you can use this on a hot plate or double boiler. (smaller option here, but there’s only a $2 price difference) One if these is highly recommended but if you really don’t want to invest you can use a glass pitcher that can be boiled. (It just may be tougher to get the wax out after!)

  • Mixing utensils - either these skewers (great because they’re disposable) or a metal spoon works just fine.

  • Wicks - ideally wicks made of all natural cotton fiber & beeswax coating with an aluminum metal base like these. To pick the best wicks for your vessels, check out this link.

  • 100% Soy Wax or Beeswax. These are both excellent and non toxic options. Soy wax is less pricey than beeswax if you’re on a budget. (I got the 10lb bag because I’m hoping to make a lot of candles, but pick the size that makes sense for you!)

  • Optionalglue dots and wick sticks to keep the wicks in place. I didn’t want to spend on wick sticks so I just had my husband drill holes into popsicle sticks for me. You can also just use chopsticks or pencils to keep the wicks in place. Instead of glue dots you can use a hot glue gun to anchor your wick to the bottom of the container. (If I know you personally, you’re welcome to come pick up glue dots from me, I have plenty in my craft drawer!)

  • Optional - grapeseed oil and essential oils / or you can order your favorite candle scents from sites like  Candle ScienceThe Flaming Candle & Wholesale Supplies Plus.

Can’t wait to have a fun, creative night together & make candles with you guys! Feel free to share with any friends and family that you think would love this.
